Special characteristics of the wine:

Elaboration of Valparaíso Crianza

The production is carried out following the traditional system (destemming and subsequent maceration of the must in contact with the skins). The average fermentation temperature is 26 ° C.

Type of wine is Valparaíso Crianza

12 months in American and French oak Bordeaux barrels with racking every six months. It remains in our wine rack until its optimal moment of consumption.

The Valparaiso winery

Bodegas Valparaíso was born with the idea of ??creating modern and quality wines, therefore the production is of very little volume, seeking to produce authentic Ribera del Duero wines. The winery has the capacity to produce 300,000 bottles per year.
All the wines of the winery are made with the Tempranillo variety. This type of grape allows us to make complex wines that unite the aromas of the variety with the tones provided by the oak during its aging in the barrel.
Regarding the harvest, we try to intervene as little as possible in the vineyard, and in those close to the winery the harvest is done manually. Each of the vineyards is harvested separately and on different dates, depending on the ripeness of the grape.

Denomination of origin Ribera del Duero

Ribera del Duero, a denomination located in Castilla y León, along the Duero river. It occupies the provinces of Valladolid, Burgos, Segovia and Soria.

Varieties of grapes used in Valparaíso Crianza

Wine made with tempranillo grapes
The Tempranillo grape used in a significant proportion is a thick-skinned grape, which adds body to the wines. It has low acidity, but it is a grape susceptible to inclement weather.
These grapes come from vineyards with an average age of over thirty years, planted in clay-loam soils.
