Lan D-12 the most singular wine of the Lan winery
Elaboration Lan D-12
The alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a temperature lower than 25º C, to maintain all its aromatic potential and achieve optimum color extraction.
The malolactic fermentation is carried out on lees in steel tanks, with periodic overpumping and microxygenation to stabilize the color and achieve a greater softness in the mouth.
What kind of wine is Lan D-12
Aged for 12 months in new American oak barrels from Appalachia (65%) and French oak from the forests of Chateauroux and Loches (35%). Selected wood of extra fine grain and dried naturally for 36 months to obtain a fine and elegant wood, which is ideally integrated with the wine.
The winery Lan
It was founded in 1972 in La Rioja, with the initials of the three provinces where the Rioja Denomination of Origin extends: Logroño (today La Rioja), Álava and Navarra. Since then, they have based the production of their wines on Tempranillo and Viura, the grape varieties typical of Rioja. Their wines come from 72 hectares of vines up to 60 years old, among which the "Viña Lanciano" farm of 5 ha deserves a special mention, whose situation, surrounded by the Ebro River, and its climate, provide a grape of extraordinary quality. Bodegas Lan has a wide range of wines, which it sells under the brands LAN, Culmen and Viña Lanciano, and the now defunct Lambros.
