The Baron de Ley winery
In Barón de Ley, the harvest is done manually not only in order to pamper every grape cluster to the maximum but also to value our greatest asset: the vineyard. As is logical, the fact of having the grape "at the foot of the cellar" contributes very specially to the quality of the wines, by reducing to the maximum the times of entry of the grapes to the winery during the harvest, thus avoiding unwanted fermentations during transport.
This great advantage has allowed us, in addition, the implementation over the years of an ambitious policy of manual selection of grapes. For more than a decade, the production of grapes from our best farms has been harvested in boxes with a capacity of 300 kilos and transported to our two selection tables in the cellar. There, each and every one of the clusters are inspected visually, discarding those that are not in perfect conditions and resulting in a "selection of the selection of our best farms" ... grapes of the most extraordinary quality.
