Elaboration of Alonso Cuesta Tinto 

I breed maceration 48 hours; fermentation and maceration for 20 days; delastages; traced by the Ganimede system. Produced and bottled in our facilities of La Torre de Esteban Hambrán, Toledo.
Bottling without filtering or stabilizing

Aging: 12 months in French (Allier) oak barrels.

The cellar Alonso Cuesta 

The winery is located in a unique space, an old palace from the mid-sixteenth century. The barrels, of French and American oak, are kept at constant temperature and humidity throughout the year.
For more than 100 years, the Alonso Cuesta family has been dedicated to the world of wine where work, effort and love for the vineyard come together to produce original and high quality wines.
Bodegas Alonso Cuesta is a family business, where a clear idea prevails, presenting to the market some wines that represent the philosophy of the family, dedication, work and affection, virtues that are reflected in the wines we make.
The first winery was created in 1920 in La Torre de Esteban Hambrán, a small town located in the northwest of the province of Toledo. It is located in an old palace-palace built in the sixteenth century by D. Diego de Vargas, minister of King Felipe II.
In the 50s, the father of the current owners, José María, built a winery that has lasted since 2000, the year in which the children decided to modernize the facilities with the most advanced techniques, but with a deep respect for tradition and natural products.

Denomination of Origin of Alonso Cuesta Tinto 

It belongs to the Mentrida DO. Méntrida is a designation of origin whose production area is located in the north of the province of Toledo. Irrigated by the river Alberche, it includes 51 municipalities having as center of the denomination, the locality of Méntrida, and as seat the locality of Fuensalida.

Variety of grapes used in Alonso Cuesta Tinto 

Varieties: Garnacha, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot
Strains with more than 50 years, manual harvest in boxes of 20 kg.
Vineyards: 2,500 kg yield. / hra.
