Wines from DOP Mentrida-Toledo

Méntrida is a designation of origin whose production area is located in the north of the province of Toledo. Irrigated by the river Alberche, it includes 51 municipalities having as center of the denomination, the locality of Méntrida, and as seat the locality of Fuensalida.
These are lands located between the Tagus River on its right margin and the Sierra de Gredos. The climate of Méntrida is extreme continental with long, cold winters, somewhat tempered by being protected from the cold winds of the north and west by the mountain barrier of Gredos.
The summers are hot and the precipitations very scarce because they barely exceed 300 mm. These climatic conditions are ideal for the cultivation of the vine and favor the application of the most natural ecological and biodynamic techniques in the elaboration of the wines.
The gently undulating terrain is formed by sandy soils of granitic origin, acids and with very little lime which increases the fineness of the wines produced there.
