white wines from the Padin winery
Wines from the Padín winery
In the 1980s the Padín-Garrido family launched a small business project to market Albariño wine in the growing regional market, with the knowledge and experience accumulated over the years producing their own wine by hand.
Galicia has a long winemaking tradition that the Romans popularized with the cultivation of the vine, and later, the Camino de Santiago influenced the production techniques. Thus, despite having exported these wines to half of Europe since the end of the Middle Ages, for centuries, Galicians had the privilege of enjoying one of the most appreciated white wines in the world.
In 1980 the Specific Designation of Origin Albariño was established, but Spain's entry into the EU obliged the creation of the Rias Baixas Designation of Origin at the end of the decade, and there the successful journey that Albariño Rias Baixas wine has taken began positioning itself in a short time among the best wines in the world.
In turn, this marks the turning point so that, in 1989, Manuel Padín and Carmen Garrido's company was transformed into Bodegas Pablo Padín, allowing the family project to be provided with a better infrastructure and to implement cutting-edge technology, which together with a A great team of professionals make it possible to produce some of the Rias Baixas wines most recognized by prestigious international competitions and specialized critics.
Close to its 25th anniversary, Bodegas Pablo Padín maintains all the enthusiasm and vitality to continue improving in order to captivate and surprise every time our wines are uncorked.
