Coming from a family of winemakers in the riverside town of Pedrosa de Duero, Burgos, Carmelo Rodero belongs to the fourth generation of winemakers. His great-grandparents elaborated the wine in classic and antique presses, until the Wine Cooperative of Pedrosa de Duero, from which his grandparents were founders was founded. Following that path Carmelo RODERO began cultivating vineyards belonging to his family for a few years later decided to opt out of this, and with 50 hectares of vineyards, started selling their grapes to the mythical Bodega Vega Sicilia for 14 years.
In 1990 he started his own career. He opted for the future and the quality knowing that the basis of a great wine goes through a good grapes, so Bodegas RODERO is proud that since its first production in 1991, all wines have been awarded in the most important fairs and tastings both nationally and internationally, serving as contrast and recognition of its quality. Carmelo Rodero supported by his wife Elena see continued his entrepreneurial action thanks to the incorporation of his daughters Maria Beatriz and very involved in the project. Beatrix, her eldest daughter, Agricultural Engineering (specializing in viticulture) and Winemaker at the University of Bordeaux (France), deals with the technical management of the winery. She has inherited her father's passion for the vineyard and wine.
