Where is viura grape wine made?
It is one of the most widespread varieties in Spain.
The grape is used to make slightly acid white wines, suitable for early consumption.
The wine is pale and light, with hints of green fruits. Macabeo is traditionally mixed with Xarel·lo and Parellada to make cava, the best known sparkling wine in Spain.
It is also the basic variety of Rioja whites.
