Where is the bull wine made?

The "Tinta de Toro" is a native variety of the area of Toro, which has little information about its origins, although it is considered that the Romans (210 BC) were the promoters of viticulture in the area, as in the rest of the Duero basin.

The plant is vigorous and of early maturation, reason why it is little affected by the own frosts of the zone in the final period of maturation. It is also sensitive to drought and diseases. The clusters are compact and of average size, formed by berries of medium size, round shape and blue-black color. It is usually used without associating it with other varieties, but its low acidity makes it occasionally associated with Graciano, Mazuela and Garnacha.
