Tempranillo Peludo grape wines

The Tempranillo Hairy grape variety originally from La Rioja (Spain), sister of the Tempranillo variety, is a grape that gives wines a greater elegance and fruitiness more accentuated, giving very good results in wines with barrel passage.

Where is the Tempranillo Peludo wine made?

We estimate that the hairy Tempranillo is the native Riojan. Its present habitat is diffuse, although the major concentrations are in the Sonsierra and the zone Alavesa.

The new plantations, perhaps by productivity, are made with Tempranillo hairless.

The wine of Tempranillo hairy is fruity and smooth while the one of hairless one is of inferior quality, at least like young wine. We do not have a defined differentiation for parenting. Carbonic maceration yields better quality with the hairy Tempranillo.

It is peculiar the appearance in vintage of the strains of Tempranillo hairy that soon drops the basal leaves leaving to air few clusters that receive easy illumination in this phase.
