Colombard is a strain of white grape (Vitis vinifera). In North America, it is known as French Colombard. Another name given in France is that of Tourterelle.
Where is Colombard grape wine made?
In California, it produces a fruity white wine with an interesting character, both sweet and dry. This grape has a natural acid character, and is used as a complement to other varieties, in mixtures. It is also widely grown in South Africa and, to a lesser extent, in Australia.
