Elaboration Lan Blanco Joven
Made with the Viura variety, from a selection of vineyards of an average age of 30 years cultivated from the "Viña Lanciano" farm in the D.O.Ca. Rioja After the manual harvest, at the beginning of September the bunches collected were transferred to the winery where they were destemmed to make a pre-fermentation maceration for 8 to 12 hours, with dry ice at low temperatures. After a light pressing the must fermented in stainless steel tanks, for 3 weeks, at controlled temperature and the wine rested on its lees for 4 months.

The winery Lan
It was founded in 1972 in La Rioja, with the initials of the three provinces where the Rioja Denomination of Origin extends: Logroño (today La Rioja), Álava and Navarra. Since then, they have based the production of their wines on Tempranillo and Viura, the grape varieties typical of Rioja. Their wines come from 72 hectares of vines up to 60 years old, among which the "Viña Lanciano" farm of 5 ha deserves a special mention, whose situation, surrounded by the Ebro River, and its climate, provide a grape of extraordinary quality. Bodegas Lan has a wide range of wines, which it sells under the brands LAN, Culmen and Viña Lanciano, and the now defunct Lambros.
Denoination of Origin La Rioja
It belongs to the DO Rioja, a name that dates from the late nineteenth century, but is not officially formed until 1925. The area that hosts this designation of origin covers the autonomous communities of Rioja and Basque Country. The grapes that are produced in this denomination are: Tempranillo, Garnacha tinta, Mazuelo, Graciano and Maturana tintaThe wines of this denomination are characterized for being fresh, aromatic wines, with an excellent ship and above all they are very balanced wines.

The grape viura
The Viura grape, also called Macabeo, is preferably used in the production of Rioja white wines.
Its main characteristic is the production of wines with acidity. Therefore, young wines are very fresh. It allows to age the wines in the bottle, as well as in oak barrels.
It is also used for the elaboration of cavas.
